It’s really kinda wild as a society that we let people amass mind-boggling amounts of wealth and power then just say “alright now, don’t hoard that and don’t break the law please!”

Capitalism only “works” if there are strict laws in place to make sure the rich don’t act like monsters, since their wealth and privilege predisposes them to being monstrous.

I really want to give my old switch to my mom, because the puzzle games she enjoys I know are good for neuroplasticity (esp considering her mom has advanced Alzheimer’s). But I admittedly still feel oddly attached to the old switch, and would like to mod it (still have the OLED one tho! 😆)

Modding also seems like a natural evolution of growing older together with a console and developing a kind of rapport with it as your interlocutor, your guide to other worlds

Also, I splurged on the $20 switch 2 upgrade of Kirby: The Lost World and it’s a ton of fun! Plus was a great game for my niece to watch me play on thanksgiving because everything is so adorable even the post apocalypse

Not to keep waxing on this but it would obviously be different if digital was cheaper (it should be). I have a ton of digital games that I got in sales cause who wouldn’t get Alan Wake Remastered for $5? 🤣

One thing I will never understand about digital gaming enthusiast what if the game you buy sucks? Then you’re just stuck with this 80 GB file that you just paid the same price as a physical copy for. At least if I had a physical copy I could resell it.

Sonic Racing is really growing on me admittedly (even though the voices are sometimes cringe inducing). it’s very ambitious. W/out steering assist, controls feel tighter. As I familiarize myself with the mechanics I find myself having a lot of fun! it has very arcade vibes and I’m here for it

I should clarify though: Sonic Racing Crossworlds is still great and lots of fun. The tracks are well designed. Customizing is cool. Just, to me, MK World feels more polished and overall like a tighter experience.
