Hello fellow New York City dwellers! I made a mayoral primary zine letting you know who to rank on your ballot, important dates, why ranked choice voting is good, and who NOT to rank. I posted a free download so you can print and assemble your own here: drive.google.com/drive/u/1/fo...

anyway this is my plea: run for office or help someone who doesn't suck do it.

in my experience, almost no one who doesn't suck WANTS to run for office, but we have to. leaving it to the people who actively want to hold office has had very shaky outcomes

Such pathetic nonsense from the supposed bastion of liberal Brooklyn. The anonymous coward who wrote this should have the courage of his or her convictions to attach a name to it. Car Brain Disease nonsense.

If you read that incredible Esquire piece about homelessness by a former (now unhoused) Boston Globe reporter, read this next.
Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

A real bucket list item seeing Robert Caro speak at 92nd St Y last night. (Bryan Cranston doing a dramatic reading of the Power Broker also pretty cool.)

Acknowledging my last day at Run for Something with my first post on Blue Sky!

I spent 6 years building and leading the program for RFS alumni! Before that, I was a program manager working in human capital and teacher retention in NYC Schools & DC Public Schools.

Excited for whatever is next!
