I’ve had PCs since they started. So I agree they started extremely buggy. But I’m talking about work PCs which I have to restart frequently for updates, at least once daily. Whether they are down for bugs or updates, doesn’t make a difference.

Yes, PCs used to be shitty and broke all the time. But now they’re shitty because they are over burdened with all sorts of protections that constantly need updates (i.e., downtime). So their level of shittiness has remained constant. I recent bought a Mac mini (first Apple) that just works.
