Finally a great episode of Alien: Earth, and not for nothing the first that actually embraces the franchise’s horror origins rather than use it as window dressing for Noah Hawley’s more cerebral, bloodless dystopia.

Big props to Yesterday (currently on iPlayer), for being both cringingly bad *and* genuinely unhinged! I get that in a world where The Beatles don’t exist that we probably wouldn’t have Oasis, but then the film keeps listing other things that nobody has heard of: Coca Cola! CIGARETTES!

Big props to Yesterday (currently on iPlayer), for being both cringingly bad *and* genuinely unhinged! I get that in a world where The Beatles don’t exist that we probably wouldn’t have Oasis, but then the film keeps listing other things that nobody has heard of: Coca Cola! CIGARETTES!
Discovering that the world’s most iconic alcoholic will be leaving Summer Bay has led me to rediscover this incredible image and Home & Away does not get enough credit for its frequently bonkers story arcs of the 90s!

Another good one was at Curzon Soho, taking my 8-months-pregnant best friend to see mother!, insisting that neither of us be spoiled for what happens. During the baby eating scene, she leaned across, wagged her finger and just mouthed ‘no.’
Watching Dawn of the Planet of the Apes at Peckhamplex and the woman in front of me loudly proclaiming ‘what is this ape’s PROBLEM?’

Someone in my audience had a very audible negative reaction to the dog scene in TOGETHER. So that was fun!
