What an astonishingly rich critique of our warped knowledges about Ukraine and other Ru occupied societies. It demonstrates how our thinking leads to dangerous erasure of (the voices of) victims and survivors of aggression from their own narratives and lived experiences. This is a must-read.

Statue of Dolores Ibárruri, aka La Pasionaria, on the Broomielaw in Glasgow. It commemorates the hundreds of young, mostly working class, men who went to Spain to volunteer on the Republican side in the Civil War, 65 of whom lost their lives in that fight.
