Yes, you’re right, a social corrective. But Bergson’s ontology is spiritual. Because we are souls, we notice when grace is broken, empty, or missing. We laugh from the soul, as it were …maybe the *telos* is social. I apply it more personally/privately though. And that’s one reason I love the MGs!
