There’s a cat here who sits on me and refuses to leave. If I have to get up for any reason, I have a window of less than one second to get after I put her down to get up or she jumps on me again.

Kim’s trying to clean Dr. Smokey B. Jones III, M.D.‘s butt and it’s going as well as you‘d expect.

This is Dr. Smokey B. Jones III, M.D.

It's fucking Xmas time and I just bought the most un-Xmas thing you can get: Hōl: Human Occupied Lind fill.

I think it was supposed to be an RPG.

Before the internet, you could just have White Wolf Games professionally print and distribute a handwritten crazy rant and call it an RPG.

This is the one my dad put into a Dodge Dart he inherited when I was a kid.

I like the one you featured in the video because it has the form factor of an 8 track cartridge and that just makes me happy.

I wonder why did they misspell "adapter" on the box.

My biggest problem with this movie is that if you stick your tongue to a flag poll, you can easily get it off by pour warm water (or some other warm liquid) down the poll between the tongue and the poll.

Time to read about how stupid a bunch of people are.

Maximilian voting for Adams even though he's dropped out.

If you explicitly want a Japanese movie to start with, go with Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964). It's weird, pro-environmentalist, and anti-capitalist. Classic Godzilla.

It's Godzilla day. If you want to know where to start with Godzilla, here's my suggestion: Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). It's the perfect monster movie, there are two monsters and they fight. It doesn't go well for the humans involved. In the end, they team up to smack down a bigger threat. Good shit.

Pt 5 Marvel Zombies

It was Halloween and I couldn't pass up the chance to catch-up on one of the most successful Marvel Projects of the pre-MCU era.

I did not expect the blood thirsty zombies to be the protagonists. I expected someone who wasn't infected to be. Nope. Villain protagonists.

Pt 4 Batman: Master of the Future

This is the sequel to Gotham by Gaslight. Gaslight is a gothic story drawn by Mike Mignola. Master of the Future is a steampunk story drawn by Eduardo Barreto. Both are written by Brian Augustyn.

Part 3 Transformers!

Daniel Warren Johnson's epic 2 year on Transformers came to an end and it was epic. Whereas Void Rivals is irreverent, Transformers has been reverent as fuck. And brutal. Oh so fucking brutal.

And it's not a deconstruction of Optimums Prime, it's a reconstruction. Good stuff.

Pt 2.5 Cold Slither!

This is a one shot that has nothing to do with the Energon Universe and is actually a kind of sequel to an episode of the old cartoon where the Dreadnoks become a heavy metal band. Brilliant stuff.

Pt 2 G.I. Joe

This is the first G.I. Joe comic I've every cared about, but I grew-up on the old cartoon so I know the characters well.

Making Baroness a Joe has turned out great. At first, I thought this would be a prelude to her joining Cobra but that doesn't seem to be the case.

What I read last night, a thread.

Note, the first thing I did was catch up on non-monster/non-gothic comics

Pt1

Void Rivals

Void Rivals continues to be my favorite of the Energon Universe comics. I like the irreverent nature of the dialog and the plot is pretty good.

Ok, Gotham looking like Manhattan, but with a “West River” is pretty damn hilarious.

Batman: Master of the Future, the sequel to Gotham by Gaslight, doesn't get the praise it's predecessor does, but it's a good story and doesn't fall into the trap of just importing Batman's rogues gallery to the Victorian era like later comics do.

If you see this, post a vampire that isn't Dracula.

I recommend The Crooked Man specifically. All the stuff drawn by Corben is good., it's like Mignola saved his best writing for Corben, but that story is creepy and satisfying. Corben does a lot with the Appalachia setting and brings it to life. Full marks.

It's the day before Halloween and my Halloween tradition is typically to read a something in the horror/gothic/whatthefuckisthat genre.

Anyways, the Hellboy stories drawn by Richard Corben (written by Mignola) are perfect. Corben is, hands down, one of the best comic artists ever.
