The highlight has to be this public restroom.

Recently reopened Vere Park in Tbilisi. Love the way the underpass entrance is utilised for amphitheater-like seating and the use of natural stones for paving.

Some of the bus services are surprisingly fast and frequent. Fare collection system is ancient tho: a conductor collects cash on the bus. I’ve been told this is largely due to the cash-dominant culture in Albania.

This is not a TFL bus stop but a bus stop flag in Tirana 🇦🇱 only saw a few of them across the city, mostly in central areas.

Vienna deserves more recognition and hype for how it’s transforming its streets. Stormwater collection and safer streets.

Surprising amount of well-preserved modernism is highly appreciated.

Skopje 2014 really did this city dirty. A decade on, all of it is falling apart and the buildings start to look increasingly dilapidated. Since these plazas were designed recently, I wonder whether more could have been done to avoid them turning into massive heat islands in scorching Skopje summers.

I spent some time in the Balkans this Summer. Skopje is known for being, umm, the kitsch capital of Europe. I personally found it positively quirky and absolutely loved the fake routemasters (Yutong City Master). One downside is the total absence of passenger info, gmaps has wrong/outdated data.

And this is what the same street looks like 363 days of the year.

The street borders a park with a sizable children’s playground, which fails to encourage spontaneous play that occurs outside traditional play structures. This becomes evident as children flock to the reclaimed street to engage in a myriad of fun activities! 🌳🚲

This is Kankava street in Tbilisi, in an area that will hopefully soon turn into the “London Park Superblock”.

For the second year now it is being reclaimed from cars during #EuropeanMobilityWeek - turned into a people-first space.

Planters, outdoor seating - simple things, massive impact.
