Kite & Mezzo both had sci-fi trappings but I think the decision to really embrace the genre stuff here was a good choice. Allows the action sequences to really sing and gives the seedy crime stuff a few more layers, too. Can't wait for the second episode

Gotta see how the rest of the story pans out of course but as of this first episode, I appreciate how much more considered of an approach Umetsu takes to handling abuse in this movie. It's unsettling and still a nasty gut punch but not as overly upsetting as its predecessors

I also dislike scores but the tragedy of it seems to be (at least if I'm remembering right from years of game media outlet podcasts) is that pieces without scores get way less visibility than those that do, by like a shitton. People don't want the writing they just want the ammo, sadly
