St Louis city politics is the belief that homeless right to shit on someone’s front door is more important than enforcing public health and safety

I repeat once again, the next St Louis mayor should be singularly driven by one objective: reversing the city's population loss www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/news...

What better metaphor for the city of St Louis than this haphazard, borderline dangerous “fix” to a historic and under-maintained structure 😭

Truly infuriating. Biden oversaw one of the biggest expansions of the US economy in decades, and bailed out the tech industry, but these fucks are never satisfied. I stg they would readily vote for a Hitler as long as their multiples are up a few points.

I subscribe to the @whstancil.bsky.social theory of politics that undercuts Carville’s point here, which is that voters do not consume traditional media so their concept of reality is warped by social media trends, all of which seem to help Trump.

Question to these pro-Palestine activists.. why march through a predictably leftwing neighborhood instead of, idk, a GOP political office or neighborhood?

Great piece. Violent crime is ⬇️ in #STL but its wrong to dismiss sensitivities to "non-violent" crime because the gap between a minor traffic violation like running a red light and manslaughter is only a few inches of your right foot on the gas pedal www.stlmag.com/news/st-loui...

I’ll never understand the carbrain that gives someone confidence that their 2-wheel drive vehicle can somehow handle icy unplowed roads

Starbucks of the late-90s was undoubtedly highbrow, but it's not controversial to agree there's a wide difference between what they used to be and what they produce today. Today's highbrow coffee shops have filled that gap by going back to the basics. Your overall point is still true though!

Continuing to fight the good fight, @whstancil.bsky.social. Without global context, Americans will never appreciate how good we have it: some of the lowest cost-per-calorie in the world ($0.44 per day!). Food options are diverse, abundant and cheap. We're just really, really bad at portioning.

We lose sight of the fact that many emerging economies like Brazil have long traditions of robust land use policy meant to protect sensitive ecosystems. Agriculture development adds pressure, no denying that, but it's not nearly as intensive as people assume

We may spend more money in relative terms than other countries, but by the same measure we also earn so much more than other countries too.

Cooking a Friendsgiving dinner tonight and I'm reminded that Americans spend far less time (and money) cooking at home and far more time consuming food out of the house.
