All the Nelsonny goodness frm this 3-way (4including Manchester museum) collab -very NEIPA but low carbonation making it seek like a cask ale. A hint of the oniony vegetation creeping in but overall very moreish

My @rosscider.bsky.social subscriber box came yesterday and what better bottle to open first than the 2023 raison d'etre! Quite sharp&a little sulphorous on the nose its relatively gentle to taste with a good balance of tanin&acidity with a subtle islay peatsmoke following on, a wisp of carbonation

Saddened to hear of the passing of Martyn Cornell @thezythophile.bsky.social and on the eve of the launch of the tome that is the culmination of decades of painstaking research and diligent debunking on the history of porter and stout. A scholar and a gentleman, cheers mate

This has all the hallmarks of a future timeless classic, at once old school and forward facing, hedgerow hops and dusty grain sack with a bracingly bitter attack, biscuit malt mid-section and a spicy, dry and moreish finish
