Surprisingly good Honduran Doritos knockoff chips from 7-Eleven. Nice jalapeno flavor without being overly spicy. The back advertises a "nacho queso" flavor I want to try.

Breakfast sandwich from Badass Coffee this morning: SPAM, egg, cheese, pineapple, BBQ sauce. Not bad! I didn't care for the cinnamon malasada donuts though. Good coffee and Americano too.

Great breakfast sandwich at Maman this morning - the bacon, egg, and cheese with spicy ketchup. Pastries were fine if a bit chewy and Nam's ratatouille was huge. Good coffee, too.

Nam and I hit some places in Loudoun today - 50 West, Greenhill, and Lark. We live in a beautiful, bountiful area and should enjoy it if you can.

Aftermath of our Oktoberfest tasting yesterday. There's a wide variety of American marzens and festbiers but the German beers were by far just better.

Interesting presentation on mul naengmyeon at Seoul Prime in Falls Church last night -- broth on the side. The broth was okay. No sliced beef with the soup and overall it was just "okay".

I've been at a conference all week so it was good to get back in front of the stove and cook for my girlfriend. Last night I pan fried a thin grass fed NY strip in butter and she made broccoli slaw. Today I made a sausage, peppers, onions, and cheese omelette.

Had a couple of bottled cocktails from Tree House today-the pickletini and the negroni. The pickletini was a bit sweet but overall pleasant (the 200 ml bottle made two drinks & I was fine with just one), and the negroni, despite being green, starts off a bit sweet but has a pleasant bitterness to it
