The biggest take away is that if dems can displace “consensus” leadership with aggressive candidates, the 2026 senate map, which is *bleak* for dems, suddenly gets more interesting.

Consensus map that shows MI, NC, GA, ME as tossups and IA, KY, AL as safe. This shows 51/45 GOP with 4 tossups - no path to democratic victory. User (me) created map that shows ME, MI, GA as democrat, TX and MT as weak GOP (Cornyn retiring and Daines is consistently vulnerable). IA, AL, KY, and NC are tossups with retiring GOP leaders and no clear replacements in the wings - Bashir (Ky), Jones (AL), and Stein (NC) prove democrats can be competitive. IA is just weird and always has been. This shows a 48/48 map with 4 tossups, a weak path to democratic victory that requires ME, MI, GA, and 3 of the 4 tossups (AL, KY, NC, IA). Weak path. But not impossible.

There is a runner sliding into homebase and the catcher is Catching a ball with his foot slightly off the base. The runner has his foot slightly off the base. Both men have their feet about 2 inches above the plate. The runner is ultimately out. The difference here is probably measured in the thousandths of a second.

This is a fun game.

David Bowie - Blackstar - released a few days before he died in 2017, 49 years after his first record was released. well, not as groundbreaking as some of his earlier work it’s hard to argue that it was not his most important record. Slowdive’s eponymous record released in 2017 29 years after their first record just for a day and unarguably their best work Heiligoland by massive attack was released in 2010 which is 19 years after their first EP blue lines
