Packed room at #rapidevaluation conference for opening plenary. Lots of potential for tech enabled change in the #NHS, but lots required to make it happen: interoperability, better procurement, cultural change etc. Will 10y.p help?!

Here’s the chart that really nudged me to write this.

The headcount of GP partners aged under 40 has fallen by 53% since 2015.

Overall partner headcount down from 68% ➡️ 48% in same time.

Current policy = ‘let it wither on the vine’. I’m not sure that’s right…..

Talking social care reform:

- Govts rarely get more powerful over time
- Social care reform may burn political capital (costs a lot and ~50% of public think it’s funded already)
- But it needs to happen & we know what to do

Prev attempts to lift and shift #hospitaltohome from other countries have often failed because they have functional social care. We don’t.

This seems entirely sensible and straightforward. But as a GP I’ve never had access to accurate real-time info on outpatient waiting times in local trusts.
