The premise of your novel reminded me (very loosely) of Tales of Symphonia but I didn't want to bring it up because it's notoriously cliche (for all the reasons that are not related to the main premise). So I say this with sincerity that Symphonia may be of interest if you can look past the cliches.

I LOVE talking about mental illness! I think people should be more frank about it to get rid of the stigma. I said I was manic to a coworker and they legit got scared and it's like "dude the worst I'll do is talk an annoying amount at you settle down"

I've been told by my psychiatrist my other disorders (mainly anxiety) keeps my bipolar in check. I worry about making a scene, so I don't act on my rage when manic. I get anxious that I'll cause someone problems, so I don't do anything risky.
I mask autism well because I'm anxious about fitting in.
