Back home, but his cone of shame is the size of Jodrell Bank, and he's very sad about it

My beautiful, cowardly boy is getting a cut patched under general anaesthetic because he finds the vets so terrifying: a tense end to the weekend

Bottled the first flush of spring to enjoy in the heart of Midwinter: beech leaf noyau from a nearby wood that is special to me, gathered at the peak violet of new bluebells and unfurling beech

@prehistorian.bsky.social looking over some Quaternary mapping offshore of Northumberland and the font Wessex use on ArcPro makes me see Shitbottle, just like in real life

Brand new badge for the campfire blanket, and it's a bit of a special one @butserancientfarm.co.uk #TheScouts

I'm a #couch25k frequent flier (trust the process, it always gets me back into running). With incredible skies like this up on King Barrow Ridge and frost on the ground, working on the edge of the Stonehenge landscape is huge privilege; makes it very easy to get out and running

An absolutely magical weekend for 8th Winchester Cubs and Scouts @butserancientfarm.co.uk : huge thanks to the team there - and especially the BRILLIANT Josh - for giving our kids such an amazing experience

Super-excited to be involved in an #archaeology x #Scouting mash-up tomorrow at the amazing @butserancientfarm.co.uk tomorrow: we're taking 45 cubs and scouts from 8th Winchester🏺⚜️

Spectacularly foggy run around the Stonehenge landscape this morning: Woodhenge barely making its presence felt. Got to surprise a hare and the fluffiest fox I've ever seen

For a chilly #StoneAgeDay at a local school, I'm taking stone tools back to the wild

Also, love that in the various photos of 'the recovery team at work', the same fella is just standing around. I think this is the Museum equivalent of That Colleague who can't shovel and chat at the same time

I mean, compared with what we constantly get exposed to, that's almost dignified

Oooh! We've got one of them!

Fantastic afternoon at the Old Fire Station for all our favourite bits of @johnfinnemore.bsky.social's souvenir programme, with Actual @carrieq.bsky.social! Brilliant - even if we did get accused of being Cat People

Me too!!! I think my map / navigation obsession was what drew me into archaeological landscapes - West Penwith peninsula has a lot to answer for.

I have spent enormous portions of my life trying to find barrows marked in OS maps to no avail. I learned to read maps by pouring over Cornish land ranger, then hunting tumuli. Delighted to find the Cheriton longbarrow is very obvious today

Stopped off on our way home to pay our respects to the Abbots Bromley reindeer

Up early with a dear friend to All Canning longbarrow to welcome the sun and toast those we have lost this year. Incredibly moving and a beautiful space
