A 58-year-old man named Earl Smith was lynched in Albany NY last week (11 June 2025) and as far as I can tell only one news source is covering it. Police are ruling it a “suicide”, which seems both unlikely and convenient, since news outlets typically have policies against running suicide stories.
He has been identified as Earl Smith. Additionally, residents in Albany are divided about it being a suicide.
