Lazy gardener, domestic imaginist. Here for the good life and sanity. If I don't follow you back on here, my political alter ego probably does.
My favorite doctor and companion (Nobody liked this the first time around but I don't care, Shirl and Heather would still be amazing)

Sometimes a gray day is just fine. No sun today, and these yellow irises just glow. 🌱 #Bloomscrolling #Gardening

Okay, but what's the next step? Will the verified have greater visibility? What about "nobodies" who don't wish to be public (like a Frog) but would still like to partake of community?

And I have three (!) containers of these. I've forgotten what they are; I thought crocuses, but got not a single bud from any of them. (Any ideas?) I can only conclude I have no idea what I'm doing. 🌱 3/3

A pot of paperwhite narcissus, now 5 months old. Won't die, won't grow, just mocking me. 🌱 2/3

Before the holidays, I potted up 9 pots of bulbs, envisioning lots of cheerful flowers over winter. I've done this before, but got unusually bad results this time. First, this one --picture taken today. Pretty enough, but rather overshadowed by everything blooming in the garden outside 🌱 1/3

Out for a walk, which has improved my mood immeasurably. 🌱

Sunday: This year, I will buy no flowers, just divide what I have.
Tuesday: Oh, look! Pretty primulas! I'll get just one.
Wednesday: Maybe what I really need in my life is an auricula theatre. Hmmm... 🌱

Hmmm. Big boy and his girlfriend, right outside the sunroom window at midday. Interesting to see, but I know I won't be quite so happy about their visit when I check on the garden. 🌱

Short boxing day walk to the top of the hill. There's a spine of stones at the top of the otherwise stoneless hill, and nearby the place where deer have slept. Nine deer-body impressions in the leaves, 5 or 6 feet from one another, and one more a little way off. (Yes, my photos are a bit fuzzy.)

At Christmas I am visited by All The Things I Cannot Fix: broken people, people who want more than I can give. I am not Santa, but I too am "unaccountably weary." (Text from John Crowley's Little, Big -- letters to Santa.)
Nonetheless, Merry Christmas all. #boxingdaybreakdown

I lost count of the cups of fruit I put in the pot, didn't know how much sugar to use with my combination of peaches and wineberries (frozen back in August), broke a jar, and had to re-process a couple that didn't seal... but nonetheless, I now have one Accomplishment to my credit for the year.

Sometimes they do need a little "help"! I'm tempted to rescue some from this vast neglected peony garden... 🌱

Favorite flower? Here it is -- peonies. They are glorious performers here during their short season. 🌱
