If you’ve seen the documentary High Fidelity (John Cussak etc), I’m almost certain they renamed me Dick. I really think one should be consulted about this shit too, even if they swapped Real Groovy Auckland for Championship Vinyl Chicago everybody knew.

Decided a Radio Birdman tattoo is needed.
Feeling very grown up because I suddenly thought… if Vonnie is cool with it. Cos it’s a “we” not a “me” thing.
Finally at 51, I’m beginning to sometimes remember I’m not the be all and end all centre of everything.
Shocking stuff… going to take a nap.

There is something appealing about putting a bunch of restrictions in place before trying to create art… recording to tape you really have to plan it out, and make everything as perfect as possible. With digital you can just click undo and have another go. Probably deluded but I worry I’d get lazy.

Turns out mathematics is not like riding a bike.
Before you offer to tutor teens (who are fucking mean, and apparently throwing hands is now frowned upon) check you still understand stuff like “the regression line of y on x”. Still, bet these kids can’t bust out Daniel Johnson on the uke!
