Just remember:

The acceptance of a pardon carries the requirement of the admission of guilt.

This is a core element of conservative philosophy: If a single "undeserving" person is getting a government benefit, the answer is to take it away from millions.*

The truth is that if Dems are ready to get rid of the filibuster they may as well do it when they are in the majority. They don't have to justify the decision by letting Trump's GOP run wild first. You don't always have to let the guy who's been kicking your ass for years throw the first punch.
people are being very flip about the possible harms of getting rid of the filibuster *right now* in a way that imo undermines the core case that the Republic is in special peril. it's clearly all downside until 2027 even if you grant electoral backlash! Dems can't have a trifecta until 2029!

Local media is calling it: Katie Wilson will be the next mayor of Seattle.

Wilson ousts Mayor Bruce Harrell after running as a progressive challenger.

Her win is a west coast companion to Mamdani’s as a statement victory for the left.

Ibuprofen is very literally the ONLY thing that helps my chronic pain. It is my lifeline.

They say this shit because they want to eliminate all disabled and chronically ill people from the face of the earth and a great way to do that is to strip us of all of the medications that help us survive.
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

How shockingly un-American! Our government has no business threatening people who won't work for free—they're supposed to be thrown in prison first.

Maybe you heard that AI power demand is straining the grids and causing brownouts and that, hell, some of 'em are running jet turbines on flatbeds 24/7 to keep the lights on. But, here, look at this cocktail napkin! I've worked out it's actually your lightbulbs.
Worried that using ChatGPT harms the planet? A new analysis shows each query uses less energy than a Google search – and far less than lighting a bulb or streaming TV.

How much energy does ChatGPT really use?
You shouldn’t really worry about your energy use when using domestic AI, it’s probably no worse than watching your favourite soap
