Y'all have been using "lucent" and I never even noticed until today? I had to look it up? ("Glowing with light, luminous.")

It starts in 1800 and the squiggly line is fairly steady until it takes off in the 1950s, hitting a peak of about double usage and going into a valley around 2000 that's still higher than pre-1950, then rising to an even higher peak before another modest decline ending in 0.0000114154% in 2022.

Shout out to all the other loud-noise-averse, vegan recovering alcoholics out there! Hope you have good noise canceling headphones and can get some good "me time" in today. Third time was a charm figuring out the magic ring-- I slipknotted the end of the tail so it didn't come loose again. #crochet
#10 Crochet thread in color heliotrope with 41 stitches worked into the magic ring. The tail end is slipknotted around a soft neon orange hair tie so that it won't slip through until I'm ready to sew the end in. My pillowcase background is light blue, and the handle of my crochet hook is neon greenish-yellow.

The #PrairieCorridor smelled so good in #LNK this morning. There was a trail use detector set-up near the entrance for a user count in progress, so I felt good about doing my bit to keep the stats up. It was absolutely gorgeous out there. I hope y'all have time for a spirit-replenishing hobby today.

Anyone else in #LNK see what looked like a #sundog this morning? (Photo taken on Bison trail near Salt Creek bridge.) I've never seen one in warm weather before, so I'm not sure what this is.
The sun has just risen over horizon and there is a faint semicircle of light around it with some subtle rainbowy spots on either side. There are small clouds covering the sky and trees on the horizon.

So glad my boss scheduled me a random day off today (I'm not great at requesting and using my vacation time, so she does this for me sometimes). Walking 2.4 miles in this snow from work yesterday was okay, but I didn't want to do it twice again today. But I still went on a walk for fun this am

There's something very hyper-masculine about writing a book like that." He's not just talking about the number of pages, but of the claims of narrative authority implicit in much panoramic fiction. "You're looking at a group of people living through a certain time, a certain period, and assuming that you understand everything that's gone on in that period; that you understand how those people have survived those historical forces. And in fact, you haven't. What I wanted to do was to reverse this kind of top-down understanding of what an epic novel is and build it from the bottom up."

He got almost 4 million fewer votes than Biden did in 2020. He *lost* support with low-income voters, but still eked out a win due to his gains with high-income voters. Gotta log off before I see any more posts blaming the most vulnerable demographics for our current woes
Trump managed to win a majority of lower-income Americans (unlike 2020) and saw his opponent win a majority of higher-income voters (also unlike 2020). Because the density of lower-income voters fell and the density of higher- income voters rose, though, more of his support came from wealthier voters in 2024 than in 2020, and less of it came from lower-income ones. The graph shows how in 2020, roughly a third of Trump voters came from each third of income ranges (under 50K, 50K-99K, and 100K or more). In 2024, of the people who voted for Trump, many fewer of them were from the under 50K income group, and many more of them came from the 100K and up group. (The middle group looks like it might have shrunk some but is about the same.)
