They might have done something to touch it up when they darkened it, but this art is from 2015. You can see some of the same weirdness in the chainmail in the original, but it's not as sharp.

I'd say Obyra is best for being cheap and it triggers off bitterblossom.

Otherwise?

Alela has a good control faerie style trigger and goad is very good for your small creatures.

Nymris is probably my third for having flash itself, another good control trigger, and 6 toughness helps in combat.

Got it

Yea, they'll probably still wait until it's already happened or something else stupid. Really bring the comic to life.

Siiiiiiick

Also, you know what's a 50¢ card now? My brain is doing backflips at the thought...

We were working on hyperemesis, and it's crazy that bogardan hellkite is like maybe 60¢ now.

Benoit Blanc being the only human in a Muppet movie would be incredible and I don't understand why it isn't happening.

2004 was... Not a great year for me musically. All of Franz Ferdinand was on repeat for a while that year though, so that's my answer.

It was however, also the year we got Numb//Encore from Jay-Z and Linkin Park, and APC released a bunch of crazy covers, so it could have been a lot worse of a year.

Played Commander with friends for the first time in forever tonight. My Henzie deck got a bit screwed (drew 7 cards, 6 lands and a ramp spell), but my friend played my Ayara devotion deck and omg did it pop off. This card in particular was wild:

They wouldn't, but the rules text is the rules text. The Oracle text on every version includes the reminder. So, any change to it is technically an errata.

You could 100% tell me there's an extra mana symbol in these and I'd probably believe you lol

One day I'll be able to put these in my food deck without having to ask the table every time... Maybe. Probably not, but maybe.
November 11, 2025 at 12:42 AM
Lol, speaking of charmed pendant, it could technically be viewed as pro hybrid rule change (this is a joke)
November 11, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Yea, but I'm ok with throwing 2 cards next to no one plays in edh under the bus for a more flavorful time. At the same time, I honestly wish they could go back and errata them, then it wouldn't be an issue to begin with.
November 11, 2025 at 12:18 AM
Yea, I totally understand that too, which is why it's not a hill I'd be willing to die on. I just think it's weird that none of these can use red cards. They work 100% without red, there's nothing about their designs that requires it. It could have been colorless pips tbh, but it just feels off.
November 10, 2025 at 11:44 PM
In regards to no design space being opened, I don't know that's true. The change of allowing abilities to count rather than just mana cost opened a lot of space in legendary creatures for instance. I know ppl disliked Leo here, different hybrid rules could theoretically have changed the whole cycle
November 10, 2025 at 9:24 PM
I'd actually argue red is a more appropriate color for it than white. Red is #1 in treasure creation and I believe number one in punishing an opponent for drawing cards.

Damn it! 🤣

I went through a lot of cards to think of this, but man do I love phantom nomad.
