Just an utter ignorant waste of skin in a suit who became Premier thanks to voter apathy (aka disillusionment with provincial politics)

Also, Bill 60 is a disgrace and DoFo's cronies' spinning of it as in any way useful to the public is infuriating.
I really try to make jokes and find fun ways to spin terrible news on here, but I read this and the only thing I have to say about it is that Doug Ford is a piece of shit who shouldn't be running an Arby's, let alone a province. Fuck you, Doug. share.google/gPPqvtiuqD0O...
Ford tells protesters to 'go find a job' as controversial housing bill passes at Queen's Park | CBC News
Shouts and chants rained down upon politicians at the Ontario legislature Monday as the government passed a housing bill that critics say makes it easier for landlords to evict tenants.

First holiday party of the season today.

People showed up in Christmas sweaters + novelty hats + I rolled up with a hair pin inspired by ancient Celtic-Norse knotwork, a recycled glass pendant inspired by eco-friendliness, & socks inspired by passive-aggressive introvert-ism.

I regret nothing

In Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897), Dr Seward’s journals are famously ‘Kept in Phonograph’. Join me for a nerdy deep dive in which I, brandishing back-of-an-envelope math, calculate the cost of Seward's phonograph habit, & encounter a creature more uncanny than Dracula himself! 1/14 #Gothic

My apartment building never sees trick or treaters, and my place is too high up to see any costumes in the neighborhood.
But I took some Halloween-y pics near my brother's place last week...

Lol

This framing of DoFo is so far off course, even the imaginary "Captain Canada" (never heard anyone call him that, ever) wouldn't be able to spot the truth.

He's a thug, a bully, friend only to rich developers, and his 2025 re-election? Had 45% voter turnout. 😑

Reason 6392946 to appreciate the heck out of Guillermo del Toro @realgdt.bsky.social

🥰
“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

In about three years the entire university pivot to AI curricula and schools and programs is going to be so deeply embarrassing. We will all pretend it never happened and I will be standing there, looking at people with a mirror in my eyes. This is all so embarrassing.

It seems like ages away, but tbh I care far more about Murderbot than I do about 97% of any person making headlines today, so...

Being forced to listen to other people's full-volume, no-headphones phone calls on transit will be the thing that starts my Villain Era.

(It blows my mind that this is such a common thing. Long calls, short calls, sharing personally identifying info calls, casual obnoxious chitchat calls...)

Watching Avengers: Endgame with Mom, who has seen perhaps 23min of maybe 5 Marvel movies, in no order. Her comments: "Who's that? Why did they do that? Who's this... robot?"

Makes me remember how this movie stitches a truly ludicrous number of studio properties into an already timey-wimey plot.

My "Teaching in the Humanities in the Age of AI" webinar last week recommended we be very clear with students about their use of AI in our course. S'pose this will do? 🙃 It's part of my Day 1 slideshow.

And I put shorter but similar lang on every single assignment description.
