Protecting Prideaux Haven secures a rare piece of our natural heritage in one of BC’s most dramatic coastal regions. On these 100 acres in the heart of Desolation Sound, coastal forests, nearly a kilometre of shoreline, and nesting habitat for the threatened marbled murrelet will stay safe, forever.

This was possible because hundreds of people stepped up for nature. We’re grateful to Marine Parks Forever Society, Brian Piwek, Elaine Godwin, a generous anonymous donor, and to the many new supporters who joined the BC Parks Foundation community to help bring this campaign across the finish line.

“Grasslands cover less than one per cent of British Columbia but are home to more than 30% of BC’s threatened species, like bighorn sheep, badgers, and butterflies,” says Andy Day, CEO of BC Parks Foundation.
