"The Third Wave" by Alvin Toffler. I'd read "Future Shock" years earlier, and he got many predictions about the future wrong. TTW had a chapter titled "Ghandi with Satellites" written just a few years before Indira Ghandi kicked off India's space program. "Power Shift" is also good.
