I suspect the EU Elixir market is doing considerably better than the US Elixir market

There is a massive grifter economy built on the back of pseudo science because there are willing masses ready to spend money on any short cuts they are offered.

Basically, if they've been on the Rogan podcast odds are very high they're full of shit.

It's time for a new phone.

I get that you're an academic and there is a tendency amongst academia to protect "your own" but there are so many that acquire PhDs and push junk science to just push ideological view points, disrupt actual science, and sell junk. The degree is a gateway to money for many.

October 23, 2025 at 8:23 PM
yeah, when I did look at Hyperview my understanding is that it's just a webview with js bindings to the native system. There are bunch of these out there and they're all just improvements over Phonegap IMO. What we're doing is (hopefully) very different.

I think you missed the announcement. LVN is dead as continuing to support the breaking changnes in LiveView isn't something I'm willing to continue doing.

Check out the dependency constraints in live_view_native hex package for working versions.

I'm with you on that it's the correct thing to do and possible, but this US-East-1 downtime event has been going on for over 15 years and it's the same story every time
October 20, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Yeah but continuing to only deploy to a single data center is a lesson that no company is ever going to learn. They'll eat the few hours of downtime rather than invest in the engineering required to solve for real
