If we beat Southampton and City, they won't catch us imo. They can't just switch it back on after losing 5 league games in a row. The question is "can we keep Arsenal away?". Structurally, they're still the best in the league, and they're capable of going on a run. But let's beat Southampton first.

No, I see him as the "10" in Slot's system. What I'm trying to say is he did do a lot of zonal defending under Klopp, something he'd also be required to do in Slot's 424. I would ideally like the double pivot to be able to cover more space if he's playing though. Mac and Harvey can't play together.

I do agree he's more effective in covering small spaces. All I'm saying is theoretical though, so we need to see it in practice.

My guess is we'll move away from that exclusively zonal press more and more, but Harvey should be comfortable with that, as the RW, a position he played in a lot last season, used to do it all the time under Klopp. It also helps that he's very intense physically (with limitations) and mentally.
He did start to mix up the pressing structures tbf, especially after HT. It's possible we ditch the 242 press completely once the players get comfortable with all the various structures and start problem-solving on their own earlier during games.

His in-possession game will help us defend well as we'll build up, keep the ball better and give it away less - very good in all phases, safe progressor, great passing angles when playing on the right, good between the lines. He's also a very efficient presser, and Trent is ahead of the ball less.

We don't even know if he's the main target tbh. We all know how we usually operate in the market - talk to multiple agents at the same time and then pull the trigger on the best deal.
