it’s a no-brainer - this strategy capitalizes on Netflix’s competitive advantage in the original content space and scales back on unprofitable ventures like AAA/indie games.

a smart next move is to acquire @jackboxgames.com - aligns perfectly with their current strategy and infrastructure/UI!!!

part of the reason why these adaptations are so successful is because they already have a built-in fanbase. however, this is also a double edge sword, since fans will be the first to riot if a show/movie fail to capture the essence of their favorite game

i think this is definitely a grey area in genAI that needs to be looked closely at in the coming years.

for ex: what are these models trained on? who owns these input/output? what are the economic impact to smaller artists and are they receiving proper recognition for their works?

this highlights an important shift + rethinking of conventional mobile gaming business models from P2P (pay to play) to P2E (play to earn). players are now seeking out ways to earn real-world rewards from their gaming time, weighing value when choosing their next mobile title
March 26, 2025 at 6:38 PM
research from Almedia found that 50% of mobile players have received real-world rewards from games. what’s even more interesting is that 72% of those players say rewards are important when choosing new games to download…
