One of my favourite gigs - The Moon City Masters at the tiny but brilliant Giffard Arms, Wolverhampton. Great band, and damn nice chaps too.

Listening to Blueneck's 'King Nine' this morning. The word masterpiece gets used a lot, but it's just not enough for this album. Dark, melancholic, haunting and absolutely stunning. 11 years on its lost none of its impact. If I can persuade a few people to listen to it my work here will be done.

My workload is absolute madness at the moment, but Kadavar's new album 'Kids Abandoning Destiny Among Vanity and Ruin' is a great help - its another Album of the Year contender...
