I'm basically a single issue voter in the next presidential primary: whichever candidate will take court reform the most seriously. You won't be able to govern without it.
we are going to have to start writing laws with explicit addenda preemptively rebutting the most likely bad faith interpretations from future fedsoc hacks.

One of the dilemmas of living through the second Trump administration is that saying these things out loud seems crazy. But yeah, the death penalty is an established, well-documented thing we have on the books for precisely these kinds of crimes; they obviously did it; and it's not hard to prove.
"the government should try, convict and then kill the secretary of defense for the crime he very obviously seems to have committed" seems like a radical thing to say, but -- no, it's not. it's the actual penalty for what pete hegseth, a man who ordered death squads to murder civilians, has done.

I've always thought that the better response to anti-vax sentiment from communities without a well-rooted fear of the medical-scientific community is "shut the fuck up, get your shot or you will be punished" rather than attempting to get people to understand.
We're going to have to jam civilization and science down some people's throats.

I would argue pretty strenuously that overreliance on nonprofits for social services is, in fact, a centrist position at best. NGO world cloaks itself in progressivism by adhering to cultural signifiers of social justice. Endless land acknowledgements as they take public jobs from union workers.

With the right campaigning hard against nonprofit fraud in Minnesota, just going to remind everyone that this was literally a major plank of my campaign, and probably played a significant role in me not winning, as the Dem-connected nonprofit world went nuts over it www.willstancil.org/priorities1

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

i think that we should charge even people who have been pardoned, because there is no conceivable way the founders intended the pardon power to permit the executive to order people to commit crimes and then pardon them for them

And if you do that, as we must, it's not just pardons that are null. It's everything. No appointments are valid. No orders were real. No laws were validly signed. It all falls into a constitutional interregnum in which nothing he's done counts as legitimate, akin to the South under the Confederacy.

Mass pardons are coming. There will be no accountability without treating those as null and void. And that means a future administration taking an official position that Trump is not the legitimate president right now because he is disqualified by the 14th Amendment. The two things are inextricable.

As part of cleaning up after all this, we should repeal the Invade the Hague Act and then join the ICC
Handing Hegseth over to The Hague is the moderate position.
Also recognize that this unambiguous use of the military to commit murder of helpless noncombatants as they fought for life is a direct reflection of the virulent white supremacy that has seized our government, where every Latino man is a gangbanger in a de facto state of war against White America

The media treated Biden's pardon of Hunter for trumped-up gun possession charges as more scandalous - far more scandalous - than Trump's pardon of war criminal serial killer Eddie Gallagher. And here we are:
Exclusive: Hegseth ordered everyone killed in the first alleged drug boat strike on Sept. 2, prompting a second hit to finish off survivors in the water in a mission led by SEAL Team 6. Ordering no quarter could legally perilous www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

Effectively there is no *one* person performing the duties of President of the United States right now. We are in an interregnum with an occupied throne.
The fundamental thing to understand about this administration is the president is a grumpy retiree. He has no interest in working anymore. Which leads to him being pissed that he is getting asked a question, pissed he has to show up and work, the scheming viziers running the show, etc..

We really do have two different kinds of law now: District Court law (aka the law), and Supreme Court "law" (aka the U.S. House of Lords upholding Trump's personalist regime)
I don’t know what the Supreme Court will do, but I am confident that at the District Court level it is still the case that the Pentagon cannot recall a sitting US Senator to active duty in order to court martial him for something he said. Article 1, Section 6, among other constitutional provisions.

Every Democrat in Congress should put out a video saying troops have an obligation to refuse unlawful orders. Make them prosecute all of you. This isn't a close call.

I'd add Republicans too if I thought any of them had the courage to actually cross Trump on this.
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.
