I’ve been working on the same #touchdesigner project for four months. It takes any video source and scrambles it using any audio source. This is exactly the kind of thing that will be decimated by heavy compression so let’s see how it looks in 3… 2… 1…

Half the build time on this #touchdesigner experiment was making the rolling vhs static by blending wave CHOPs and a CHOP2TOP

It can and most likely will get worse, but we can get lost at any point, be it last week, next week, next year. Hold on to the things that can ground yourself like the precious things that they are. There will be infinite doomscrolling on the other side of this too. Despair should be our last gasp!

Pt3: The psychological warfare over the entire US is either directed at enraging us against each other or diminishing your spirit into exhausted hopelessness. Recognize how easy it is to fall into either pit. Know as a fact that the act of creating lights your sense of self and new possibilities.

Pt2: I messed up when this era started spiraling. I have to see this time around differently. I can’t afford to collapse with it, the energy to recover involved, the relationships damaged in the process. Reframing and resilience is the first fight to win, to take on bigger battles

I barely know any of you, but if you battle pointlessness or feel powerless, especially for creative introvert: Don’t stop, and don’t turn inward. Fight the freeze response, and create to keep your sense of self. Creative expression IS defiance in these times. Nurture your spirit and stay connected.
