If any team wants to sign Zac Gallen for $20M+ annually, I'd rather it not be the Giants. He is coming off a down year and really did not excel in any area. It is pretty easy to tie his process stats to his topline numbers.

In addition to occasional power and quality defense, Joey Wiemer is also a pretty decent runner. Has 84 steals in 99 opportunities in the minors. He does a few things well that is weighed down by a well below-average hit tool.

I like Harrison Bader's defense as a good fit for the Giants. There is not much in his offensive profile that stands out and looks like a regression candidate in 2026. His agent will likely want to roll his strong year into a multi-year deal or a 1-and-1 contract but...

#SFGiants pitching prospect Spencer Miles had a pretty promising AFL season in what was his longest look as a pro since being selected in the 4th round of the 2022 draft.

I don't know why it's just kinda funny that the MLB leaders in Run Value by pitch are some of the best starting pitchers in baseball and then a guy who throws 84 MPH while only pitching an inning every couple of days.

If the #SFGiants kept any holdover coaches from the previous coaching staff, I'd probably guess some of these names would be candidates. Interestingly, they are the only coaches listed on the Giants' website at the moment.

Jim Bowden of The Athletic views starting pitching and the bullpen as the biggest need for the #sfgiants, and sees them as a fit for some of the top starters. He drops in a nugget about how they may not pursue Cody Bellinger or Kyle Tucker, despite needing a big bat.

This image is too funny because it highlights how rough the rest of that rotation was in the playoffs. They had a great bullpen, some timely hitting, and one pitcher throwing about 33% of the team's innings in one postseason.

In an interview with John Shea of the San Francisco Standard, Giants chairman Greg Johnson pours some cold water on signing one of the top pitchers in this year's free-agency class. This would seemingly point to them opting for pitchers on shorter-term deals.

Here is a fun Halloween game for #SFGiants fans. On this day 15 years ago, Madison Bumgarner completed 8 shutout innings against a good Rangers lineup to give San Francisco a 3-1 edge in the World Series. Andrés Torres and Édgar Rentería had 3 hits apiece in that game.

Not surprisingly, people seem to have strong opinions about what San Francisco looks like who have probably not been there and are likely just regurgitating what they see on TV. Folks seem to forget that Oracle Park is arguably the most beautiful ballpark in baseball.

Sharing this as well. He would lose some home runs, but I think it highlights that he has more pullside power than to the gaps, which could be successful at Oracle Park. It's not far down the line, but more a matter of getting it into the air.

Joel Peguero could be an interesting name for the Giants' bullpen next year. He throws extremely hard, but does not miss a ton of bats, nor does he get hitters to chase. He has the velocity for a leverage role, but the low strikeout numbers could set him for a lesser role.

If you like Run Value as a stat, Trevor McDonald's Run Value per 100 pitches on his curveball is 2nd in baseball at 3.4 RV, behind only Shane Bieber (Min. 100 pitches)

Trevor McDonald finishes the day with 18 swings and misses, which ties him with George Kirby for the lead among MLB pitchers today.

He's not just any pitcher. Arguably the greatest of all time.

This was the Giants lineup in the 1st time they faced off against Clayton Kershaw on 9/28/08. Tim Lincecum started the game and collected the win. Sergio Romo and Brian Wilson also pitched in that game.

This meme pretty much sums it up. They went with the mystery box, and unfortunately, it was not a boat (Kevin Gausman).

This was a pretty brutal at-bat by Jung Hoo Lee earlier today. He's their best contact hitter up at the plate with the bases loaded, 1 out, and the team down by 1, and he does not even swing the bat.

The Giants got some help from the Tigers today. If they win later against the Rockies, they would gain a full game against the Mets, who currently have a 4.5-game lead over them in the Wild Card standings.

Basabe and Rodríguez led the way in terms of home run distance in AAA today. There was an error in Luciano's distance, but it looked like it went over 440 feet to the untrained eye.
