Yesterday was Ukrainian Independence Day 🇺🇦

I joined parliamentarians from Ukraine and across Europe, as President Zelensky welcomed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and renewed his country's determination to overcome Russia and its unwarranted invasion of Ukraine.

Last week, I attended the first COSAC meeting of the Danish 🇩🇰 Presidency of the EU 🇪🇺.

This is an important opportunity to meet colleagues face-to-face to share perspectives on a range of ssues, but also to explain where Ireland 🇮🇪 is coming from.

Today, I am in #Valencia, in #Spain 🇪🇸, for the annual European People's Party #Congress.

Despite yesterday's electricity outage, which brought everything to a standstill, we are looking forward to two days of constructive dialogue with colleagues from around #Europe 🇪🇺

I was honoured to be nominated by An Tánaiste, Simon Harris TD, to Chair the Oireachtas Committee on European Affairs 🇪🇺.

Next year, Ireland takes over the Presidency of the European Union, where we as a country have an opportunity to bring our values to the fore at an EU level.

I am really looking forward to chairing the European Affairs Committee as we work towards Ireland's Presidency of the European Council, next year.

#Europe 🇪🇺 is more important than ever as we face global challenges in trade, climate, migration, energy, defence, human rights, and the rule of law.

Today is World Austism Day. I attended an AsIAm event in Dublin, this morning.

The work AsIAm does for neurodiverse people and their families is extradionary. It is important that we educate ourselves how to support the autistic community.

Thanks to Adam Harris and his team for hosting the event 👏

Last night, I stated my #confidence in the #CeannComhairle in #DáilÉireann.

I do not believe those who say that they do not have confidence; I think they are just trying to draw out a divisive and petty row that is preventing the #Dáil from doing its work.

It's time to get back to work.

I enjoyed great music and cheer at the Love Your Laneways launch with the local community this week.
