Interesting trip to my local grocery store today. People were reading labels - not for nutrition, but country of origin. Same for the stickers and “product of” signs in the produce section. I wasn’t the only one choosing Canadian.

Collards and black-eyed peas on the stove, a delicious way to hope for a prosperous New Year. Cornbread in the oven. This Canadian is thankful to have southern friends who introduced me to this tradition more than 30 years ago. And I’ll still enjoying it. Adding wishes for peace to the mix.
