Probably because the ending requires the reader to re-evaluate how they see the main character and the vampires. For some reason studio execs think we're all morons who can't understand nuance.

What I would give for a faithful adaptation of I Am Legend. Those last few lines when the main character thinks about he's now the monster always give me goosebumps.
I like the 2007 film as an action/horror but it sucks as an adaptation.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a dragon should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat ass booty off the ground. The dragon, of course, flies anyway because dragons don't care what humans think is impossible.
