Some languages are harder to learn reading in than others. English is probably the hardest in Europe.

In Italy November 1st is a holiday.
In Trieste where I work November 3rd is a holiday.

Every year both Trieste universities declare November 2nd as "extraordinary closure day". This year sadly it was a Sunday.

Right, so maybe a better way to frame the question of the thread is, what are good ways to teach people how to meaningfully contribute w/o setting themselves up as smarter / better / faster / superior?

That seems useful and bypasses the question “is he truly faster?” NB Some of us are taught how to behave in such a situation before our age reaches two digits. This correlates with not being a boy.
