Looking at the comments on that article, it is clear who BBC News is appealing to, in it's right wing bias.

Even if it is responsible for clogging up our justice system, so that trials are delayed by years? My instinct is to support this change in the hope, and understanding, that the judges will make good decisions and be independent.
