We're not going to annex, invade or purchase Greenland, Panama or Canada. This is just random bullshit being spewed without any thought behind it. If he gets attention, he doubles down and pushes it further. I'm not saying ignoring it will make it go away, but it at least frees up your headspace.

Also, just so everyone understands: Elon isn't sending people to Mars. Nobody's going to Mars for another ten or twenty years, and then it'll be a team of trained astronauts. The average Joe who's going to Mars hasn't been born yet.

I don't think Trump understands the debt ceiling, beyond some vague notion that it prevents him from doing whatever he wants to do. But that doesn't mean scrapping it is a bad idea. He's just coincidentally pointing in the right direction on this one.

On the one hand, sneaking in a pay raise at the end of the year is the kind of straightforward chicanery that everyone can easily condemn. On the other hand, the total amount of money we're talking about is going to be about a millionth of the fraud and straight out theft we're going to see in 2025.

I love James Austin Johnson, and I think that he does a fantastic Trump impression. But I worry that his portrayal, focusing on the benign ineptitude and stripping out all of the malice and cruelty, helped to normalize Trump as a candidate in a way that may have aided his re-election.
