And it's absolutely not restricted to RL. Or even ML. In science, integration is often way more useful than novelty, and it is often not even listed as a criterion.
Finding ways to work on the engineering aspects of RL is challenging. It’s not “academically novel” but it’s not like industry will do it either

This is the brainiest of my three episodes with @bardissimo.bsky.social, especially relevant after the US elections and even what happened last week at NeurIPS.

New blog post.

Preparing for my upcoming conversation with Alexander Bard, I explored the concepts of anoject and abject with ChatGPT, both the psychological roots and the antropological aspects, such as scapegoating and the descent into tyranny.

So far I've been getting more unsolicited political propaganda here than on X. @bsky.app pls stop.

Since discovering @drmichaellevin.bsky.social work, I have been fascinated by hierarchical multi-agent systems in which the hierarchy develops across different ontological levels.
So hierarchy that goes
engineers -> the company they work for,
rather than
engineers -> their boss.

As kid, sitting in front of my computer and looking at learning curves for hours, rooting for the error to decrease, my dream was that people really cared if I released my weights at every checkpoint. I guess I was not the only one. The researchers in Gemini make this dream come true for all of us.
Google released a new LLM today - gemini-exp-1121, hot on the heels of last week's gemini-exp-1114

It's currently at the top of the Chatbot Arena. I've updated my llm-gemini plugin to support it and used that to run my pelican on a bicycle SVG benchmark

Hi @bsky.app, I'd like to have access to the formula that governs my feed. Ideally a python API. If you do that, I promise you'll be the only social media.

I understand that not everyone can code in python, but on top of it you can build a marketplace of formulae that people can choose from.
