I PRed at the Orca Half Marathon today and just barely hit my goal of sub-2 hours. For the last three miles of the race I really thought I couldn’t do it. Getting past that feeling and then doing the thing was an incredible high; I was emotional at the finish line.
Results page showing my chip time: 1:59:56.46, pace 9:09, overall place 193 of 534, placed 10 of 37 in Female 40-44, gender place 62 Orca Half Marathon medal in front of the foggy Seattle skyline. About the medal: “This year’s design, by Tlingit artist Alison Bremner, pays tribute to our oceanic namesake with a stylized orca—and if you peek into its eye, you’ll spot a mega-yacht. Yep, that’s a little nod to the real-life orcas who’ve been out there giving the ultra-wealthy a hard time at sea.”
