Throw back to when I was raising Monarchs for public outreach. Metamorphosis is insane. Like what do you mean they turn into soup?!

Here is one of the continuous line illustrations I did for the Climate Solutions for Health group at University of Wisconsin-Madison. This was so much fun to work on.

6 cubic yards of compost delivered today! Got my butt into gear getting the veggie garden ready. Planted over 100 yellow onion bulbs, carrots, spinach, peas, beets, radishes, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and spinach. I’m dirty, tired, and very very sunburned. Overall a great day.

One of my favorite things about gardening/being outside is the unexpected things you stumble across. They feel like gifts from the universe. This one caught my in my tracks while surveying my raised beds. A volunteer Bloodroot in my violet patch! 🌼🩸🫚

Got to spend some time outside exploring vernal pools and collecting data. It’s always magical watching the earth wake up from winter. 🧪🐸🦐

In times like these, it’s heartbreaking, but not surprising, to witness the assault on both science and art. They are kindred spirits, born of wonder and driven by the urge to explore. When they come together, they don’t just inform. They inspire. Creativity, after all, is the echo of curiosity.

Over the past five years, I’ve had the profound honor of helping scientists and labs bring their voices to life through design. It’s been a privilege to walk alongside them translating discovery into visual language, and curiosity into form. 🧪🪲🦋🧬🦍🕷️

The monarch butterfly became a key part of our branding, partly due to pushback from city council members who oppose promoting bees in public spaces 🙄. Despite this, our efforts successfully supported pollinators of all kinds, including the bees.

It also established several community gardens, restored a 13-acre Park into native Prairie, and gave away hundreds of native plants to local residence. The city planted a native species along main street and installed educational signage on the importance of local biodiversity.

In 2019, I help kickstart a citywide native plant initiative focusing on increasing native plants across both private and public land. As a committee member, I led the design for our branding, merchandise, educational materials, website, & public outreach programs. Our efforts raised thousands.
