I currently live in one of the poorest parts of the UK, it’s a daily demonstration of what ‘structural abandonment’ actually means. The cold reality is that nobody has any ‘plan’ for these places and the people who inhabit them, and until someone does, the lure of the far-right will keep calling.
I get that it is harder to convince young lads with fuck all to look forward to that equality will actually make them happier than whatever snake oil the manopshere is selling but to just completely give up on that because it’s harder to articulate than “get money, hate women” feels defeatist
