because its easier than working on 2 different versions of the game.
Give it some time and we will be back to bf 2042... because that gameplay with the heroes, unlocked kit etc are what br players want in their br.

A game I've played a decent amount this year is day of defeat source, 20 year old game thats playable because I can find a dedicated server of old farts still playing

How about make a good launch version, add some new content for a year or 2, have some microtransactions, not many to help fund development of that content (because really most good live services deliver less content overall than when we paid for map packs), and then move on

And most times they dont even get to that point, avengers, anthem, suicide squad, etc.
There are examples of course of things getting consistently better like fortnite, but there are rumours from data miners i believe about how they bring gambling... oh yeah such positives!
