One time the match was stopped for like 20 minutes to clean up the blood after a girl got hit in the face because the nosebleed (and probable broken nose) was that bad.

I was on yearbook and did the volleyball pages, so I was out at a lot of my high school's volleyball matches. My high school made the state semifinals that year and a lot of the girls got college scholarships. More than once I saw the entirely cis team cause a concussion on an opposing player.
