Have you ever wondered why physicists are so excited to study the Higgs Boson at a new Higgs Factory collider?

Wonder no more!

I explain what a Higgs factory is, why we need one, and the amazing measurements the machine will make.

Check it out!

Had the pleasure of chatting with Prof Steve Desch (@deschscoveries.bsky.social) regarding Avi Loeb's latest claims that an interstellar object might be a hostile alien probe.

Spoiler alert: It isn't.

We break down Loeb's weak, cherry picking arguments.

My final thoughts on the now infamous Sean Carroll vs Eric Weinstein debate and the absurdly inflated play that Eric - and his ideas - get in online spaces.

Honoured to share a tiny fraction of the science #BreakthroughPrize with dozens of amazing former colleagues.

Being part of the brilliant LHCb collaboration was an incredible experience and privilege and the scientists involved taught me more than I can ever explain.

Thank you!

When floating ice melts, does the water level go up or down? 🧊🧊🧊🥤

Actually, for pure water and ice, it doesn't change! 🤯

Here's why! 🤔

Great discussion with @theorydad.bsky.social, Jenny List & @koppenburg.ch on the potential future of particle physics and the pros and cons of future machines.

Particle physicists need to form a clear consensus in the next year to drive the field forward.

Why do rapidly spinning objects often look like they're spinning slowly or even backwards? ⚔️

This is the phenomenon of "aliasing".

Some cameras record video at a frame rate that's too slow to reconstruct the true motion of an object. ⏩

Did you know that old cathode ray tube (CRT) TVs were like mini Large Hadron Colliders?

Your (grand)parents used to watch TV on a particle accelerator in their very own home!

The vast majority of scientists believe RFK Jr to be a serious threat to science. I agree.

However, we should also give him his due.

At least we now know that wormholes do exist. 🪱 🕳️

Ep4 of the "Case for a new collider" series is out!

How can we map the Higgs potential experimentally? and why does such a mapping demand a new collider? 🤔

The answer lies in the simultaneous interaction between multiple Higgs bosons! 💥💥

Ep3 of the "Case for a new collider" series is out!

Why is mapping the Higgs potential at a new collider so important?

Such a mapping may allow us to understand how the universe may end and why we are even here to ask any questions at all.
