Our children are the future. ALL the children. All colors, all religions, all nations of origins, all languages, and all stations in life.

Eradicate ignorance, encourage curiosity, and most of all allow imagination. That should be the goal of education.

We know our students. Questions, Answers, Discussions fly back and forth all day long. We are in the room with them. We see how they grow in understanding. That's real assessment. @mrobmsu.bsky.social

We are mandated to do pretests, test prep, practice tests, and teaching to the test. Then there's the actual tests that we never see the results of until the kids are in the next grade. By then it's a new group of kids in front of us with different needs. It's nuts.

If we "flooded poor schools with art, music, librarians, social workers, counselors, play, and project-based learning" you'd see test scores soar. And have happier and more enthusiastic students, too. @readdoctor.bsky.social

And now they have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
November 9, 2025 at 1:02 AM
It's not just schools being starved, either. It's the children themselves. Hungry children can't learn.

Think of the millions that are "eating sleep for dinner" because of Trump's refusal to fund SNAP.

When your resources are not the same, why should anyone expect the outcomes to be the same? You can't learn the material if you don't have the material.
