Today's delivery. I didn't get the chance to see it at the cinema, so I'm looking forward to watching Del Toro bring his vision of this classic Gothic horror to life.

Two lovely bargain finds today. Still sealed copies of a series I've never seen and one I'd never heard of.

Today's delivery. After a disappointing series 3&4, I'm hoping this will be a return to form.

Today's bargain pick-ups. I've had the DVDs and later blu rays for years, but my cheap copies didn't have the little booklet. Love a little booklet 😃

An unusual little find today. At first I thought it was just a Dinky or Matchbox car, but the signed card shows it to be a limited edition reproduction of Insp. Morse's red Jag. Always amazes me the treasures people get tired of and donate to charity shops.

Today's pick-up. A glorious look into a sci-fi classic. Packed with photographs I've never seen before detailing the production and live broadcasts.

I have only the very vaguest memories of this, but I remember it featured some of the oldest students this side of Rydell High. Only £4 for all episodes plus movie version.

I had no idea that True Detective had a fourth series. Nice pick up today for just £3.

When you're bargain-hunting, it's always nice to come across you've never heard. Just 50p for this quirky-looking comedy from the early noughties.

Tucked away on the back shelf of a second-hand dvd shop -sadly, not quite in the shadows - Series 2 of this marvelous programme from the 70s. Made at a time when TV execs didn't hesitate to make their young audience think and imagine.

Today's bargain find. An absolute steal for just a £1. Sadly, no cd with it, but can't complain. A lovely, quirky comedy/drama from the 80s.

Tonight's watch. Pizza, red wine and Tom Cruise giving his all in the last MI movie. The very definition of entertainment.

Finally arrived. Arguably the best ever series of Classic WHO.

Today's bargain pick-up. Just a £1 for the latest take on this iconic detective. And I thought Bob Mitchum was too old for the role...

Today's delivery. Mixed reviews for this prequel to the 'Alien' series. I've only seen the trailer which looks great.

Today's bargain pick-up. The bulky, shambling Depardieu makes a thoughtful Maigret as he investigates the murder of a young girl. This perfectly captures the Gallic atmosphere of the original novels.

Only 50p for this biography of Edgar Wallace. Over 170 books, he is the very definition of the word 'prolific'. The title is very misleading as his work on the screenplay for the original Kong was minimal at best.

Today's delivery. Raymond Chandler called it "The impossible murder". Who did kill Julia Wallace in the winter of 1931? Her husband? Whose alibi is both plausible, yet deeply flawed? A neighbour with a grievance? A disgraced ex-work colleague of the husband out for revenge? A fascinating story.

When you're out bargain hunting in the tail-end of a hurricane, it's always nice to come across something that you never knew existed. Three series of this detective spoof for just a £1.

I've just started my annual rewatch.

Today's delivery. A superb and charming period detective series. I find the just-not-quite-right back cover artwork endearing

Today's delivery. A great true life Victorian murder mystery. Just the thing to help me forget about the misery of a cold.
September 22, 2025 at 2:41 PM
Today's bargain pick-up. Just £2 for this sequel to 'The Terror'. It doesn't quite have the tension and chills of the original series, but it's a superbly made bit of TV.

Not a bad little haul for just 50p each. In-between writing best-selling novels, Agatha Christie turns detective herself in these three entertaining TV movies.
