Today’s colors. Sometimes there are two eggs, sometimes three. The third has no spots. Love these new ladies addition. They’ve been laying about a month now. They’ll stop soon and begin again in spring.

Today we found a song thrush nest next to the water hydrant in the garden. 3 perfect little eggs. She flies off for me to turn the water off and on and then comes right back. 🐦⬛

My 10 year old got to take a field trip to her future middle school yesterday. How did it go? She heard about middle schoolers offering her classmates from the elementary, drugs, which she doesn’t even fully understand yet and for good reason. Problematic if you ask me. Kinda pissed about it.

The husband has been hard at work getting a second coop put together. This coop will allow us to separate the turkeys and the chickens, a much needed thing. #crampedcoop #turkeyvshen #chickencoop #homestead #hubthebuilder

It’s official! Turkey egg laying season has begun!! Found the first two this morning. We’ll hatch and raise a few birds for freezer camp but the rest of the eggs make delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner additions! 🦃

We had steak for dinner last night. As I was slicing it up I was appreciative of the fact that our pork which you see here is so good, juicy and flavorful. That’s right, this is a KuneKune pork steak and it was delicious.
