You can call me Babs. Chances are: I will drag you to karaoke so I can sing Sade. Poorly.
My former chief was still writing her briefs by hand on legal pads until she retired in 2016. She is not yet 70. I’m well-trained in holding out against tech.

I am not kidding when I say that I genuinely didn’t know you could really cook rice without a rice cooker until I went to college.
Everyone I knew growing up had at least 3 rice cookers and I guess I assumed moros/congri was magic.

Cuban, here. For all holidays falling on a day ending in “y” (except Good Friday when it’s frituras de bacalao) it’s lechon. Tho on Thanksgiving at least two turkeys get added to the mix— American-style and fricassee.

I loved The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson about London’s cholera epidemic and the birth of epidemiology/public health

Angela Davis = high profile? Abolition doesn’t presume no need for restorative justice b/w victims & offenders or ever restricting freedom. But what policy work results in a society where we don’t commit mass violence against ourselves. We don’t have to live with thousands of women raped every day.

Is this you’re first time watching? What a treat. My first viewing is such a vivid memory, wish I cd go back and do it again.

I have it on authority that there was a large increase in requesting telework this week because folks can’t afford to fuel up their cars.

Me and the hubs are the little old couple (in our 40’s) who drink their coffee to the local morning news. Hubs is obsessed with sending photos of pup to get him on tv every week for the “show us your cute dogs” segments.

My dad LOVED his apple pie topped with a Kraft slice.

My teen’s Easter basket last year was stuffed with his three food groups: ramen, instant Thai iced tea and dried sour mango.

I.e. Digesting transcripts with page citations wd be a huge time reducer. But I just sought a paid service for this & it can only handle single witness depositions. I need trial transcripts, motions hearings, etc. without citations, summaries are unhelpful.

My biggest frustration is that the tasks that would make it very useful to me it cannot do for even an extra cost. And it seems that the development is all of tasks that aren’t helpful (at least for my needs) Summaries cannot replace my need to read the source material myself. 1/2

Never a day goes by we aren’t forced to witness how boring these dorks are. All the money in the world and just so mind-numbingly boring. It’s my pettiest beef with super wealth.

I don’t even understand this from a Eurocentric pov. My mother is a member of the DAR, and, we, um called all her friends Aunt So and So.

Snapped up tickets as soon as I got the email today they are playing my city in June.

I will die on this hill: neighborhoods must be places where everyone has to live near everyone (zoning laws) and everyone has to go to school together (no school
Choice). Pax Romana (/sarcasm) = folks unite to bitch about same pothole & their kids school doesn’t have a full-time nurse.

Teen still loves uniqlos socks and sweat pants.

Uniqlo’s heat tech base layers, flannels & zip fleeces were also our go-tos when kiddo was younger. Not is high quality as PoP, obviously. But solid and good-looking.

This is heartbreaking. My kiddo (high schooler now!) wore POP as baby all the way thru 7th grade. Such high quality gear, lasted for years b/c grew with him, able to pay forward. So many happy memories of those perfect stripes and happy colors in the snow.

Yes, I will fight to the bitter end. I’m sure I’ve got a good ten years of age on you, I started plotting and scheming to destroy knee-length basketball shorts in favor of perfect itty bitty shorts for men in 2001. It took decades! Decades! We can not go back!

I can beleive it’s appreciably worse, but also: I was in law school on 9/11 — students “turned in” professors & other classmates for “anti-American” activities. Also, our moot court had enormous scandal when notes were discovered in trash of extremely racist comments during try-outs.
