Sometimes you mix up your dates and instead of going home until tomorrow, you buy a ticket to the show tonight too! 🤷‍♀️

Sure. "The Grand Jury did not see the operative indictment" is the kind of fuckup where lawyers literally don't actually know what happens next because it SO fundamental a thing that it is LITERALLY possible nobody had even thought of this as a thing that could happen.
Translate for us non-law-talkers...?

Did you see someone stealing food? Nope. You didn’t.
Who steals food? Hungry people. Instead of turning them in, help them.

Stephen Colbert: “Tonight we’re all Jimmy Kimmel…. With an autocrat, you can’t give an inch. If ABC thinks that this is going to satisfy the regime, they are woefully naive, and clearly they've never read The Children's Book If You Give a Mouse A Kimmel.”

It needs to be said that by rebranding Charlie Kirk's views as moderate by both right wingers and liberal cowards resets the extremist views he held as normal and pushes the Overton window to the far right

I've only been living in a dictatorship for eight or nine months now but I get the sense that its essential to the dictator's existence to keep the populace on edge, off-kilter, in a constant state of 'wtf'.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

They will be called ICE Youth and when the historical parallels are pointed out they will act like it's insane to draw that comparison
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem just announced she's removing the age limit for ICE applicants, which allows literal teenagers to now apply. What could possibly go wrong?

Due to Congressional Republican cuts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting will permanently close its doors. The CPB was responsible for stewarding federal funding of local public media outlets across the nation. This is a massive loss for the American people.

canceling Colbert, one of the smartest, kindest, wisest public figures we have, feels like an attack on american culture. Even if it is a financial decision, it's an attack on the best of us.

we need to value people like Colbert and his team.

The Colbert situation is scary (assuming this is political, which it has to be, right?) because it's a good reminder that there's like 5 media companies out there that control everything now. It takes a very small amount of people to effectively silence any large scale criticism of the government.
